SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. This field should be entered from
the FORM W-4 that the employee filled out and signed. It should
then be VERIFIED against that form.

There are significant PENALTIES for INCORRECT or MISSING
SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS. As long as the number matches
the signed W-4, you should not be liable for penalty.
