A PAY RATE entered here will OVERRIDE, for THIS PAY INPUT RECORD ONLY, the
Employees Pay Rate from the Employee Master File, or Craft Pay Rate if
the Rate is blank in the Employee Master File.
There is a Pay Rate LIMIT CHECK to protect against miskeying. Any Pay
Rate that EXCEEDS $1,000.00 will be disallowed. A Message Box will
appear when you try to store the record.
By making an entry here you will OVERRIDE ANY OTHER PAY RATE that may
apply to this employee. THIS RATE APPLIES TO THIS RECORD ONLY! IT DOES
NOT CHANGE ANY RATE IN ANY FILE.
Example: Fred Smith is a Journeyman Electrician and is paid according
to union scale, $21.45 per hour for Straight Time. There is
NO PAY RATE in his Employee Master Record, because his rate
changes according to the Union Pay Scale. Therefore his Pay
Rate comes from the CRAFT MASTER RECORD for Journeyman
Electrician. On some Jobs he gets a HIGHER PREVAILING WAGE
RATE of $24.50 which is stored in the Prevailing Wage Master
File.
On this day Fred was doing special work of a higher risk
nature and was paid a premium wage of $32.00 per hour.
32.00 was entered as PAY RATE OVERRIDE. The other two
rates were ignored and this rate was used for these
hours only.
