CRAFT CODE identifies a record in the CRAFT / DEDUCTIONS MASTER FILE.

It is composed of THREE FIELDS from that Master Record:

Local #                The FOUR DIGIT number that identifies a Union Local.

Craft                Up to 3  Alphabetic Characters that identify the CRAFT of the Employee.
(These are the Crafts that have been entered in the CRAFT MASTER).

Level                Up to 3 Alphabetic Characters that identify the LEVEL of the Employee.
(These are the Levels that have been entered in the LEVEL MASTER).

The CRAFT CODE and its CRAFT / DEDUCTION RECORD can serve 3 purposes:

         1.                Identify the Craft and Level of a Worker on the CERTIFIED PAYROLL REPORT.

         2.                Cause a STANDARD PAY RATE & OVERTIME FACTOR to be used for an
                         Employee's pay computation.

         3.                Cause FRINGE BENEFITS and UNION DEDUCTIONS to be computed and
                         applied to this Employee.

Example:

An employee has the following Craft Code selected in his Employee Master Record:

                         0142ELEJ                -  0142 =  Union Local # 142
                                                         -  ELE    =  Electrician Craft
                                                         -  J         = Journeyman Level

         The following results will occur:

                         1. His CERTIFIED PAYROLL time and pay report will identify him as a
                              Journeyman Electrician.

                         2. He will be paid at a STRAIGHT TIME RATE of $21.25 per hour with a
TIME AND A HALF PREMIUM for OVERTIME. (As will all others with
                               this Craft Code).

                         3. He will have Fringe Benefits paid to a Trustee for Health & Welfare,
Pension and Apprentice Training according to Rates in this Craft /
                              Deduction Record.

                         4. He will have 2.5% of his Gross Pay deducted and paid to his Union as
                             Union Dues.
